Medical records are retained for the periods required by HPCSA regulations and South African law, currently a minimum of six years after the last consultation, longer for certain categories of record.

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements for medical records)
  • Object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
